"The Art Behind the Tape" Explores the Origins of Mixtape Cover Art

If you're thirsty for knowledge about the early days of mixtape cover art or just generally appreciate it, you'll want to contribute to this project. Maurice Garland, Bril Ndiaye and DJ Mars have joined forces with Kickstarter to present The Art Behind the Tape, a book which will chronicle the evolution of mixtape cover art. It's an ambitious goal, and will be the first book to detail mixtapes, specifically the history of their artwork.

They're seeking donations ranging from $1 to $2,500, so if you want to help make this a reality, visit the Kickstarter page. This story deserves to be told.
