With the bright lights, glitz, and glamour of EDM's rise over the last few years, you cannot think that every city/police department will be on your side. Porter Robinson learned this the hard way last night, when his headlining set at Santa Barbara's Matador Music Festival was cut 35 minutes short by Santa Barbara police. When Porter did what seems to be the wise thing and let the people know that the show would be ending in five minutes, and that he'd be playing his banger "Language," the Santa Barbara police informed him that he was "inciting a riot" and that they would be seizing his equipment as "evidence."

While this is just one side of the story, we also don't recall other instances of Porter Robinson mouthing off at the police. We don't know what else was going on, but based on what Porter's provided, situations like this can further drive the wedge between the ravers trying to enjoy themselves and the police who are trying to keep them safe.

We'll keep you posted on any developments in this story.
