With no response to date from Kanye and continued protestations that "people are going way too deep" in reading Ray J's evident troll-maneuver "I Hit It First" as a unseemly provocation, Ray J has taken another step, dropping the trailer to the video for his—that's right—charting single.

"I Hit It First" hit the charts—see what we did there—landing at No. 51 in its first week, besting new songs by Avril Lavigne, Paramore, Rocko and Fabolous featuring Chris Brown. It also charted higher than Brad Paisley and LL Cool J's much-discussed "Accidental Racist."

Of course, its longevity on the charts is the real test of America's patience for Ray J; Billboard numbers should be surfacing tomorrow. We'll be taking bets in the comments section all day.
