Comin' straight outta Gaithersburg, Maryland, rapper Logic just inked (or just revealed that he's inked) a deal with Def Jam Records, only a month after being selected for XXL's Freshman cover issue. Logic was included in our June 2012 roundup of rappers to look out for in the DMV metro area; read up on the rapper here.

According to Hip-Hop DX, Logic's debut album will be helmed by the legendary No ID, the producer behind classics like Common's Resurrection and newer releases like Nas' Life Is Good. Said Logic in a press release,

"I'm excited to take this next step in my career. It's incredible for Def Jam [Records] and Visionary Music Group to work together and the opportunity to collaborate with a living legend like No I.D. is priceless. I'm very humbled to be apart of the most iconic hip hop label of all time."

His new mixtape, Young Sinatra: Welcome to Forever, is due out May 7.
