A Color Map Of The Sun

It's been quite a day for Pretty Lights news. His new album A Color Map Of The Sun, which is due out July 2, will be released along side a "making-of" documentary that is surely set to show off Pretty Lights' true musicianship.  The trailer shows Pretty Lights exploring different record shops, working with live studio musicians, and composing music along the way as he moved through his painstaking creation process. Pretty Lights' voiceover explains, "this record was an experiment in creating modern, cutting-edge music with gear that existed forty years ago."  The documentary will provide a window in to the Pretty Lights process and understanding of the obstacles he went through toe create the record and give it away for free.

The news comes at a time when Pretty Lights is on top of his festival game, having just headlined the Live stage at Ultra Music Festival and is gearing up for a summer of headlining spots.  He'll be at Moonrise Festival, Governor's Ball, Summer Fest, Bonnaroo, Electric Forest, Kanrocksas, Osheaga, The Veld, and Squamish.  We're excited to say the least.
