Chicago MC Tree is an eccentric producer/rapper/auteur from the city's Cabrini Green housing projects. His 2012 release—one of them, anyway—was entitled Sunday School, and it was one of the year's best records. He has an unusual ear for jury-rigged productions, samples that seem sewed together at odd angles, gritty and unusual, but with a heart that feels comfortable and familiar.

His follow-up LP, Sunday School II: When Church Lets Out is due out this spring through Chicago label Closed Sessions and Creative Control. Lead single "Trynawin" features none other than Roc Marciano.  Stream the song below, and check out the behind-the-scenes video courtesy Closed Sessions after.
