Tim Carr, an A&R exec whose work at Capitol, Warner Bros. and Dreamworks was responsible for the signing of the Beastie Boys and artists like Megadeath, Babes in Toyland and David Bryne, was found dead at the age of 57 in his apartment located in Thailand yesterday.

The legendary A&R signed the Beastie Boys to Capitol in the late '80s, as well as Megadeth. He signed Babes in Toyland, among others, to Warner and has worked with a variety of other artists in his career.

Carr was reportedly found with a stab wound in his chest. Police have reportedly called the circumstances surrounding his death suspicious, and have started an investigation. Carr had lived in Thailand for the last eight years and was working on films.

Rest in peace.
