In a recent interview with Fuse, producer and rapper Hit-Boy spoke upon how his HS87 label came together. According to Hit-Boy, he met K. Roosevelt and the rest of the crew when he was just sixteen years old. Meanwhile, the name HS87 stands for "Hits Since 1987," which is the year the double-threat artist was born. He says that the goal for HS87 is to offer a space for younger artists such as himself to express their creativity and get their music out.

Meanwhile, in a second clip with Fuse, he spoke about the response he gets received from fans during SXSW this year. He also got to talk about his recent posse cut, "Cypher," which he said came about organically, with artists willing to jump on the track even though it would be released for free.
