Wild card that she is, Nicki Minaj took a pretty bizarre route to promoting her spot on the cover of April’s Elle. Rather than giving us a behind-the-scenes look at the shoot or even a standard interview, Nicki went with the far more meta option: interviewing herself. In the clip above, Nicki plays “Nicole from Elle,” a young journalist interviewing Nicki Minaj (played by Nicki in a hat).
Minaj actually does a pretty hilarious and spot-on impression of an inexperienced interviewer — awkward silences, dumb questions (“who is Nicki Minaj?"), nervous laughter and all. Watch that up above.
