Rappers are funny about lists: When they're included, they love them; but when they're omitted, they shrug and try to discount any and all conversation surrounding lists.
So we can't be too surprised by this interview with J. Cole, who didn't make this year's list of MTV's "Hottest MCs." Kanye West and Pusha T have already voiced their grievances with the list. In this interview, J Cole shrugged at his not being included on the list, saying that any conversation surrounding the list is what MTV wants in the first place.
And it seems the interviewers are more upset about the J. Cole oversight than the rapper himself. "Somebody's gonna die?!" We know it's a joke, but it's rap, people.
