More than that, we love showing you new and upcoming acts. Today we introduce you to up-and-coming Swedish duo, Error404. Over the next few months, we will be having a series of exclusive mixes from Error404 showcasing their taste for big room electro.
"Error404 is what we are and what we missed in the EDM industry, a hard-hitting big room sound mixed with these commercial melodies for the masses." The duo only started producing together last October but they go farther back than that: "We met through a collaboration for a hip-hop track actually, about three years ago... We did do not want anyone to label on our music, so this is Error404, this is Genre Not Found music. We had have been doing a lot of different kinds of music earlier. Mike has played drums in several rock bands since an early age and Kastriot started producing reggaeton at the age of fourteen. So, it has been a long way to reach the sound that we have today, but because of all the genres we have been working with, we have managed to combine a lot of different elements into one sound.We always try to think outside of the box, we want to walk our own path and combine the things that we love about music into one style. And that is what we think music is all about, to not have to put an label on our music."
The duo notes that their Swedish background has played a role in their choices. "I think, because of the intense competition, we have automatically pushed ourselves to the limit to be more unique and be able to reach out. Hard work pays off." The group has their first release on the Australian label Shabang Records this coming monday March 18th with their debut EP coming April 1st on Marcel Woods' 2-Dutch imprint. And while you can catch Error404 with fire mixes on DAD for the next while, you can also catch them this summer as they take bookings and appear at places like Swedish festival, Unwind Festival.
The first mix in the series is "Title Not Found #1," a 36-minute mix featuring tunes from Tiësto, The M Machine, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Mike Emilio (1/2 of Error404).
