Alicia Keys and her piano just took center stage on the 50-yard line at Super Bowl XLVII in New Orleans to perform "The Star-Spangled Banner," and as expected, she killed it with an extremely graceful rendition. Peep the playback above, which includes cutaways to the players as they await the kickoff, and a shot of United States troops overseas in Afghanistan watching along. Definitely no lip-syncing here.
Keys now joins a club of R&B divas who have performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl that includes Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Beyonce. Impressive performance, to say the least. Nicely done, Alicia.
