New York City has a whole bunch of incredible musical events in its future, thanks to the folks at Red Bull Music Academy. RBMA just announced a string of events throughout the city, from April 28 through May 31. The 34 events are all inspired by the city itself and will boast more than 230 artists from every corner of the musical landscape.

One event we’re particularly looking forward to is entitled “12 Years of DFA: Too Old to be New, Too New to be Classic,” featuring the label’s co-founder, James Murphy, and a collection of other DFA artists old and new at Brooklyn’s Grand Prospect Hall on May 25. Another tempting one is the Brian Eno’s “77 Million Paintings” audio-visual installation at Café Rouge, with a talk by its legendary creator on May 6.

Other artists performing as part of the series include Afrika Bambaataa, Just Blaze, A-Trak, Erykah Badu, Pantha du Prince, Giorgio Moroder and Four Tet. Head to RedBullMusicAcademy.com for more information.
