If you're unfamiliar with Mo Kolours, it's all good. The South London producer isn't that verbal and he tends to recede into his music. But that's what makes his art so captivating: In this era of "look-at-me musicians," Mo creates for creation's sake. His blend -- a mixture of lo-fi reggae dub, soul and Sega -- is entirely introspective and self-fulfilling, yet it's attainable enough for mass consumption.
Out today, Mo's third EP, Tusk Dance, is far more spacious than his previous work, Banana Wine, which made an immediate impact with accessible ready-made jams. Tusk Dance is methodical and brooding. It plays best on headphones or in a quaint space at a moderate volume. It works either way.
