We’ve had our eyes on Lapalux for a few months now, but he still manages to surprise us. After somehow merging electronic and gospel music with “BETHR” earlier this month, and getting downright hypnotic on “Guuurl” before that, the UK experimentalist takes things in yet another direction with “Forlorn.”

This time around Lapalux plays the role of hip-hop producer, dropping an ethereal backing track for some rhymes by Busdriver. Unlike those last two tracks, “Forlorn” isn’t destined for his debut LP, Nostalchic, due out next month via Flying Lotus’ Brainfeeder.
