Listen: J Dilla "Dewitt to Do It"

Because it's perfect for the nighttime.

When you think of J Dilla, you think of drums - soulful, trunk-rattling drums. It's why the Detroit producer had sway with the mainstream and underground alike: Though Dilla was low-key, his music held a certain majestic quality that drew you in and held your attention.

That mystique has loomed larger since his passing in 2006. Out today, "Dewitt to Do It" blends Dilla's vocals from 2001's "Shake It Down" with a fluid mix of light keys and soft percussion. The song is the latest from the four-track Lost Scrolls Vol. 1, out today on Fat Beats
