Check Out "Vanity Fair"'s "Oral History of YOLO"

It’s been a wild ride, but, after sparking car accidents, regrettable tattoos and this, it looks like “YOLO” might finally be on its way out (or so we hope). Vanity Fair published a feature article about the rise and fall of the needless abbreviation of “You Only Live Once” today, and, as it turns out, the phrase’s history is a little hazy.

Around these parts we’ve often given Drake credit for creating, or at least popularizing, the word on “The Motto,” but VF points to several alternate histories.
