2012 was a breakout year for Gunplay. After destroying his verse on Kendrick Lamar's "Cartoons & Cereal" he went from being seen as a Rick Ross lackey to a legitimate rapper. He then proved he actually had some worthy songs with his mixtapes Bogota Rich and 601 & Snort. But then he got into a fight with G-Unit, footage of him allegedly pulling a gun on his accountant surfaced, and eventually he got put on house arrest and became a lightning rod for controversy. Still, we're excited at the prospect of a full length Gunplay album because he remains as one of the most unpredictable characters in rap. We don't expect him to sell many records (we can already see Walmart banning his album based on his name alone) but if his album is anywhere nearly as entertaining as his viral videos we'll be satisfied. We're just hoping he can keep his nose clean long enough to actually see the release of his album.
