It may have been mentioned a little while ago, but today on a cold and rainy January day we're looking towards festival season, with Pasquale Rotella announcing that he would be bringing his carnival to Chicagoland Speedway May 24-26. MDW is always one of the biggest party weekends of the year and it's no different in electronic music.  Coastal cities have normally gotten the biggest and best acts, but now Chicago gets to have their fun with it's first true electronic festival,

And while that's already enough to be excited, check this over-looked tidbit out:

"EDC Chicago will be the first and only EDC festival providing a limited number of fans with the opportunity to enjoy over-night camping directly adjacent to the festival grounds. The camping/festival package, which includes three-day general or VIP admission plus camping pass, will be priced at $295 and $419, respectively."

Yes that's right, camping out at EDC can now become your reality.

SAY WHA?!  Yeah, we know we're excited, too. The Electric Forest Festival (Insomniac's primary campout festival) has proven that Pasquale surely knows how to throw campouts, so we'll be excited to see how this will come to fruition because we're sure it'll be top notch.

For those who are more inclined to have a bed and working shower, don't worry - you don't have to campout.

"Three-day general admission tickets will initially be priced at $175 with VIP tickets selling at $299 before service fees. A layaway pricing option will be available. A limited allotment of single-day tickets will be available for this three-day experience at a later date. Minimum age for VIP is 21 and older."

Expensive as those numbers are, Insomniac has proven time and time again that they will give you a truly one-of-a-kind experience. That's not an indictment against any other promoters, only a nod of recognition to Pasquale. We have no word on lineups at all, but with Insomniac's reputation, we don't need it to be excited.  Three days of house, bass, hard dance, whatever it might be, the EDC Chicago experience is sure to have a wide offering of musical styles and scenes all converging at once.

Grab your tickets when they hit the market at noon (Chicago time) on January 23.
