As a last-ditch effort, opt for the old tried and true method of reverse psychology. "I want you to hear this new artist, Dad. You'll probably hate it. It's more for a younger crowd." All of sudden it's a challenge, and instead of the pressure being on you to explain the value, it's up to Dad to try to prove you wrong. It appeals to a basic characteristic of our human nature, and after all, dads are people too. If all else fails, just blast "Parents Just Don't Understand" and call it a day.
