Ke$ha’s “Die Young” has taken a major plunge following the shooting at Newtown Connecticut’s Sandy Hook Elementary School last week. In the wake of this tragedy, radio stations across the country pulled the pop star’s latest single from the airwaves.

Before the incident, Mediabase had “Die Young” at number three amongst radio playlists with 167 million listeners. On the Friday of the shooting, however, it lost 3 million and by Monday it had lost another 16, bringing it down to 148 million. There’s no word yet on how the single’s overall sales will be effected, but it was seated at number three on Billboard’s Hot 100 before Sandy Hook.
