The 20 Best Rap Rock Collaborations

18. (TIE) Run-DMC & Living Colour "Me, Myself & My Microphone" (1993); M.O.P. f/ Butch Vig “How About Some Hardcore” (1993)

Year: 1993
Album: Judgment Night (Soundtrack)

Pairing Run-DMC with NYC rockers Living Colour worked on a number of levels for this earthshaker from the Judgment Night soundtrack. It’s a surprise LC frontman Corey Glover didn’t lose his gig, as Vernon Reid ‘n crew lay down a track that coulda been straight off of Raising Hell or King of Rock.

Year: 1993
Album: House Party 3 (Soundtrack)

Judgment Night featured so many earth shakers that it’s almost impossible to choose, but M.O.P. deserves recognition as the original hardrock hip-hop mashup rappers. No group this side of Run-DMC sounds better on a rock track, including on this bananas metal remake of “How About Some Hardcore” featuring Nirvana producer/Garbage drummer Vig.
