Rumors about a possible Cruel Winter project by Kanye West grew in intensity when a 54-second trailer hinted that it was in the works. The clip was reportedly for West’s short film and it showed nothing more than a few desolate images and ominous forests in the wintertime.

Fuse sat down with Austin Christianson, the 23-year-old director who created the preview, and told them that West and the G.O.O.D. Music crew have no involvement in it.

"Without getting into many details, I will say that the trailer was independently made and the video is essentially a concept trailer," he says. "It's used for pitching an idea and/or concept to a client. With that said, the video was being used for pitching purposes and it's naturally intended only for the client to see."

Christianson removed the trailer from his YouTube and Vimeo pages. While a spokesperson for West hasn’t responded, Def Jam did confirm that the video had no connections to West.
