With all the Kardashian-dating, president-accusing and Grammy mic-stealing, it’s hard to imagine Kanye West as anything less than a superstar. Back in 1998, though, he was just a kid trying to make a name for himself in the hip-hop world.
A new video has surfaced of Ye at a party all the way back in 1998. The clip finds Creative Control’s Coodie interviewing Murda Ma$e (now just Ma$e) and the rest of the Harlem World crew at Jermaine Durpi’s birthday party. Alongside all the New Yorkers, though, is a barely 21 Kanye, The College Dropout still six years away, representing Chi-town and already trying to hog the mic. Check that out up above.
