Jhené Aiko recently wrapped up this year’s CMJ festival in New York City with a performance at SOBs last Friday. After the show, the L.A. native sat down with Singersroom to give official details on her project with No I.D.’s Cocaine 80s. Best known for her contributions on both Schoolboy Q and Ab-Soul’s albums, Aiko’s solo projects are shaping up to be pretty good.

“Me and the Cocaine 80s is made up of musicians, singers, and producers,” she said. “I told them I wanted to be a part of the Cocaine 80s. I wanted to be the female voice of the group. They will be featured on Souled Out."

She added, “Yes, we are definitely working on a mixtape or album together. That is definitely in the works.”

Aiko is currently signed to No I.D.’s Aritum label and is set to release her album Souled Out sometime in 2013.
