Hip-hop and R&B had some very strong showings this past week thanks to some choice singles and albums hitting stores. It also didn't hurt that a certain G.O.O.D. Music artist dropped a new track seemingly out of nowhere that highlights all three of his talents; that'd be rapping, singing, and producing. Elsewhere, the Maybach Music Group saw one of its members drop a hungry new track while the Chicago drill scene continued to rise.

Wale "The Arrival"

To say Wale sounds hungry as his latest track, "The Arrival," would be a massive understatement. The same could say for our eagerness for his third full-length, I Ain't Perfect, which is off to a very strong start here.

Lil Reese "Us"

The essence of drill music is alive and well and that is clear with Lil Reese's "Us." With a crisp, heavy bouncing beat from Young Chop this track really bangs hard through the speakers. Reese catches the attention of the young and gritty generation with that 'I don't give a damn' attitude. This track surely could bring Lil Reese to the top.

Miguel "Do You..."

Kendrick Lamar f/ Dr. Dre "Compton"

As if we needed any help getting excited for good kid, m.A.A.d. city, Kendrick Lamar whetted our appetites ever further with a leak from the upcoming LP earlier this week. On “Compton,” Lamar busts out some characteristically impressive verses over an old-school-meets-new-school beat by Just Blaze. Also, you can't go wrong with Lamar spitting alongside Dr. Dre.

Kid Cudi "King Wizard"
