The past week brought with it some exciting surprises in the hip-hop world. One of the genre's brightest rising stars dropped a gem from his soon-coming new album and then hopped on a certain Harlem MC's star-studded loosie. Elsewhere, RZA's The Man With the Iron Fists soundtrack continued to sound beyond-promising as tracks hit the web in streaming form. To catch up (and find out more about) those tracks and others, click below to stream the five best songs of the past week.

Toro y Moi "So Many Details"

Not Available Interstitial

This week brought the first official taste of Toro y Moi’s “sincere pop music” album, Anything in Return, and it sure was tempting. “So Many Details” is the lead single from the third LP, and it finds Chaz Bundick on point. Bundick manages to trim some of his spacier fat for a more pointed track that still maintains his smooth charm.

Wu-Tang Clan & Kool G Rap "Rivers of Blood"

It’s not too often that a soundtrack gets more hype than a film. As good as RZA’s The Man with the Iron Fists might be, though, it’ll be hard to touch accompanying tracks like “Rivers of Blood,” Wu-Tang Clan’s joint with Kool G Rap. That song brings the New Yorkers together to spit killer verse after killer verse over an epic, electric-guitar heavy spaghetti western backing track.

Kendrick Lamar "Backseat Freestyle"

The world got a taste of Kendrick Lamar's new album this week with "Backseat Freestyle." The first thing you'll  notice is that Hit-Boy did it again with this beat, which slaps through your speakers. Lamar then dips in and out of the production with nasty rhymes. That signature West Coast feel is cemented on this track as Lamar turns it up at the end and reminds the world why he is one of the best lyricists out.

Chief Keef "Love Sosa"

Not Available Interstitial

It appears as though Young Chop and Chief Keef might be the new one two combo in hip-hop. The "I Don't Like" combo is back with "Love Sosa." The anticipation for this track was high after Keef released a preview last week, and it didn't disappoint. Keef's gritty lyrics and monster hook fits perfectly with Chop's signature trap beat. Keef is correct, everyone does love Sosa.

A$AP Rocky f/ Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar "F*ckin' Problem"
