When Thurz released last year's impressive L.A. Riot, he proved that he could go it alone with ease. He also proved that he could tackle heavy subject matter, as the album explored the Rodney King beating and subsequent riots that shook Los Angeles in 1992.
But for his latest release, Thurz is showcasing that he can also just have a good time while flexing his skills on the mic. 517 W Queen Tape is a feel-good project that will definitely get some burn as the last days of summer trickle away. The 16-track mixtape features Killer Mike, BJ The Chicago Kid, and more and it serves as a precursor to his upcoming sophomore album, Blood On The Canvas.
