While G.O.O.D. Music's group album, Cruel Summer, was the music event of this past week, there were many notable individual releases, too. And they arrived from across the genre spectrum, from the dreamier beat-focused comeback single Nosaj Thing to the heavy hip-hop riots of Danny Brown's Bruiser Brigade crew. Those tunes and others made our list of the week's best songs, which you can check out via the link below.

Freddie Gibbs f/ Krayzie Bone and SpaceGhostPurrp "Kush Cloud"

Not Available Interstitial

Freddie Gibbs dropped a new smokers' anthem this past week in "Kush Cloud," which stems from his upcoming Baby Face Killa mixtape. And rather than go it alone over the heavy SMKA production, he linked with O.G. smoker Krayzie Bone and weed enthusiast SpaceGhostPurrp. The end result is a hazy joint (no pun intended) that has us looking forward to BFK's release.

Action Bronson "It's Me" (Prod. Party Supplies)

Not Available Interstitial

Action Bronson's leak of "It's Me" wasn't just your average free offering from the Flushing Queens spitter. Well, it was, but it was much more than that as producer Party Supplies confirmed that it will appear on their new project, Blue Chips 2. Also, Bronson over a sample from The Little Mermaid? Yeah.

Nosaj Thing f/ Kazu Makino "Eclipse/Blue"

Not Available Interstitial

Los Angeles producer Nosaj Thing made his return this past week with "Eclipse/Blue," a stunning, dreamy cut featuring Blonde Redhead's "Eclipse/Blue." It's the first preview of his sophomore full-length, Home, which drops in early 2013. If that seems really far away, it's probably because of how damn good "Eclipse/Blue" is.

Danny Brown and Dopehead "Errthang"

Not Available Interstitial

"Errthang" is one of two new tracks from Danny Brown and his Bruiser Brigade teammates, in this case rapper Dopehead and producer Skywlkr. With a menacing, thudding beat behind them, the two Detroit MCs talk their shit and inspired doing so. You can download the entire Bruiser Brigade EP here.
