Chinese pop star Zhang Muyi is making headlines lately and it's for all the wrong reasons. The 24-year-old singer is dating a girl—Canadian model Akama Miki—who is half his age. That's right: she's 12. And apparently they began their relationship when she was just 11.
As Jezebel reports, Muyi wrote that he's looking forward to her next four birthdays to come and go, so they can legally be together. Additionally, some are skeptical that this is merely a publicity stunt, partially because Miki just launched her music career and they have several collaborative singles.
Muyi's been quick to shut down the rumors that their love isn't real. Here's his reply to the doubters (and haters):
