Who Is Bago?

Her Love For Dolly Parton

Bago: “The first song that I ever learned how to sing was Whitney Houston’s 'I Will Always Love You,' and that’s right when The Bodyguard came out. That was like the big hit, my uncle’s friends came into the living room with all their friends and they thought it was funny.

“That song was written by Dolly Parton and she was inspired prostitutes, she did that movie, The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas. So that was always something really interesting to me.

“Back in the day, when she wrote that song 'I Will Always Love You', Elvis Presley actually wanted to do a cover of the song. The whole deal with Elvis working with anybody was that the writer had to sell half of the publishing rights to Elvis. But Dolly Parton was just too boss. She was like, 'Nope. I’m not the one for you.' Later on it paid off, she has [the publishing to] Whitney Houston’s biggest hit. So don’t sell out too quick.

“She’s a true business woman. She’s had a long career, she can do anything. If you follow her career at all, [you’ll see that] she just really does not give a fuck. Tennessee loves her. She’s got that amusement park in the Smoky Mountains called Dollywood. She’s just like the coolest lady. She loves to love, loves to be loved, and keeps doing her thing. She’s awesome.”
