Nas appeared last night on MSNBC's The Ed Show, and spoke on a bunch of topics with author, professor, and radio host Michael Eric Dyson, well known in hip-hop circles for his books related to the culture, including Born To Use Mics: Reading Nas's Ilmatic. During the interview, Dyson speaks to Nas about his career's longevity, and why he chose to talk about his divorce on his new album Life Is Good. He also asks if hip-hop is still dead, a question that Nas responds to by saying, "The spirit of it is alive. I tried to put the spirit into my music to give it that thing that I felt as a fan of it. There's a couple of great artists out there who are doing the same thing. I think right now it's on the respirator." Watch above.
