DJ Khaled's new album Kiss The Ring dropped yesterday, and to help promote it, he went up to pay a visit to Angie Martinez on Hot 97. Of course, Angie addressed everything, including the recent rumors about his unpaid rent and possible eviction, and Kim Kardashian's appearance in the "I Wish You Would/Cold" video with Kanye West.
About Kim's appearance, Khaled says that they didn't even plan to shoot "Cold" as part of the video, and he didn't ask her to be in the "I Wish You Would" part even though he does say he wanted to. But, he did tell Kanye about Kim being in it, "You know we need this look!"
Then, when director Hype Williams threw the song on at the end of the shoot, 'Ye got hyped and jumped in front of the camera and started rapping along, and eventually called for Kim to join him. At this point, Khaled says he looked at Hype Williams and said, "We're gonna make CNN. We're gonna win." And thus, "Cold" was included in the final cut.
He adds that Kanye and Kim "are mad cool," and "are really a cool couple." Watch the full interview above.
