Talking to Sway Calloway on Sway in the Morning, Common responded to Chris Rock's assertion that movies have killed more rap careers than bullets.
"I really think he has a point as far as you got to be able to live with your album if you're making an album but the best music I made, I had to focus on so it's like for me man, when I'm doing an album, that's what I need to treat/that's what my focus is," Common says.
"I know how to kind of focus and get in on the emceeing thing and I just love it so I'm going to keep wanting to be the best at it."
Common also dropped a freestyle during the same sit down.
