Lady Gaga recently became the first person reach 20 million twitter followers, but, according to a new study, she might have significantly fewer fans than that. Social media company Status People has found that 71% of the singer’s now almost 29 million followers might not be real.

The study separated followers into “fake,” “inactive” and “good” and found that only 29% of Gaga’s fell into the third group. If true, this would mean Gaga now has over 20 million followers that are either full-on fake users made only to follow and send spam or that have had no Twitter activity in a long enough time to raise suspicions. There’s no word on just how Gaga would have attracted all these fake and inactive tweeters.
