Rap's ridiculous cycle of consumption makes us think that artists must always be creating, but that's simply not the case. Sure, a break means that Lil Wayne would be forgotten about to some degree, but the certain success of his protégés Drake and Nicki Minaj means he will always be a factor.

Time off for Wayne would likely lead to new inspiration and a less mechanical recording process. Fiona Apple just took a seven year break between albums and is back with new, highly-acclaimed work. Weezy should consider making us miss him and do the same.
