The 50 Best Songs of 2012 (So Far)

30. Spaceghostpurrp "The Black God"

Album: Mysterious Phonk: The Chronicles of SpaceGhostPurrp
Producer: SpaceGhostPurrp
Label: 4AD

SpaceGhostPurrp introduced the listeners to his ethos, intentions, and even threw in some grim predictions in his verse on "The Black God." The production doesn't aim to be atmospheric like some of the others on Mysterious Phonk: The Chronicles of SpaceGhostPurrp, but it's every bit as effective. As its cold and calculating instruments inches their way under your skin, "The Black God" hits hard even without any punchlines.
