Album: Celebration Rock
Producer: Brian King, David Prowse
Label: Polyvinyl

The Japandroids were on the verge of breaking up when their debut album, Post-Nothing (2009), caught critical attention and exposed them to a wider fanbase. The entirety of Celebration Rock sounds like a band that has just been rejuvenated with new life, and at the center of it all is "The House That Heaven Built." The adrenaline rush that of the duo's power-happy guitar and drums was enough to buoy the song, but Brian King steals the show with lyrics about life and death, good and evil, and heaven and hell. All of this at 150 mph.
