Many of you probably remember Cody ChesnuTT best from his slick guitar playing and catchy chorus on The Roots' "The Seed 2.0," and some of you may also remember his treasured 2002 double disc debut The Headphone Masterpiece. Well, other than his quietly released EP Black Skin No Value in 2010, Cody hasn't put out much material at all in the past decade. But now, he has plans to release a proper new full length album titled Landing On A Hundred, and is using Kickstarter to help fund the project. In his personalized Kickstarter message, he explains the album title, saying Landing On A Hundred means "landing on something truthful. Landing on something purposeful...something meaningful."

Watch above as he gives some background about the project, which was recorded in Al Green's old Memphis studio, and below, take a behind the scenes, in-studio peak at his song "Everybody's Brother." Also, below the video, stream two new songs, "Under The Spell Of The Handout," and "That's Still Mama."  Cody ChesnuTT will be performing at SOB's this Wednesday, July 11 in New York City, and Thursday, July 12 at Yoshi's in San Francisco. Click through to the project's Kickstarter page to purchase tickets. Landing On A Hundred is due out this October.
