If you've been reading the headlines about Pitchfork Media Festival, you're probably aware that Lady Gaga was backstage for the Kendrick Lamar show. From the crowd, you could see Gaga dancing along to Kendrick's music and enjoying the show. If you read about this, it seemed like a big deal. You might imagine that everyone in the audience was oohing and aahing over the superstar's presence—that wasn't the case.
One of the best things about the Pitchfork festival is that everyone in the crowd seemed to be there for the music. The audience for Kendrick's set was there to see Kendrick. He performed his new track, "Swimming Pools," for the first time ever, delivered a crowd-pleasing version of the epic "Cartoon & Cereal," and had the onlookers fully engaged. Nobody in the audience was talking about Gaga.
