Music industry legend John Monopoly is a very integral part of Chicago's hip-hop lineage. With 20 years experience, including a long stint as Kanye West's manager, he's seen plenty of history in the making. On the latest episode of Disrespectful Radio, a podcast hosted by our homie Andrew Barber at FakeShoreDrive, John Monopoly sits down to talk about Kanye's old rap group the Go Getters, Jay-Z and Kanye's first show together back in 1997, helping to launch 'Ye's career, working for Jive Records and Violator Management, and the new crop of Chicago spitters, including King Louie.
He even shares a story about when he and Kanye went looking for Lauryn Hill in Miami to get the "All Falls Down" sample cleared. Listen below.
