Meek Mill may be the hottest rapper out of Philadelphia today, but around the turn of the century it was looked at as the next hotbed of talent. There were The Roots, and everyone associated with that scene. Plus Beanie Sigel's State Property crew, Philly's Most Wanted and this group, Major Figgas. Fronted by Gillie Da Kid, who would later go on to fued with Lil' Wayne over writing credit, the Figgas scored a hit with "Yeah That's Us," which made it to #2 on the Rap Singles chart. They dropped an album, Figgas 4 Life, in 2000, but really didn't leave much of a mark on the game.
