The 100 Best Hip-Hop One-Hit Wonders

86. Dimples D "Sucker DJs (I Will Survive)" (1983)

Producer: Marley Marl
Album: Dimples & Spice
Label: Party Time Records / Warlock Records

"Sucker DJ's (I Will Survive)" was a Marley Marl-produced answer record to Run DMC's "Sucker MC's." And although it didn't move many units, it most definitely raised an eyebrow or two. It's also noteworthy because it's reportedly the first thing Marley ever produced. In 1990 it was blended with the theme song of "I Dream of Jeannie," and the new version found a second life, becoming a #1 hit in Australia and a variety of European countries.
