Purity Ring is only on their fourth song release, but they've already got a lot of people—including us—convinced that they're one of the next big things in indie pop. In a way similar to Grimes, the duo makes their pop with a dark approach, mixing ominous, knocking electronic production with the light, airy vocals of Megan James. It's another step in the progression of pop music as more than what we've typically thought of it as, and with "Obedear," Purity Ring is convincing that their first few tracks weren't just strokes of luck.
