Legendary Queens emcee/producer Large Professor is set to release his third solo album, Professor @ Large, on June 26. Large Pro, who has worked with everyone from Nas to A Tribe Called Quest to Slick Rick to Common, reinvents his classic boom bap production on Professor @ Large for a new school of students and practitioners to do the knowledge to, saying, "The tree's still growing, still branching out. But it's been so long since we've heard these sounds. This is what we love, and there's a lack of it right now."
As for the lyrics, Extra P adds, "When I first started out, it was just about talking slick on the mic in the vein of the old DJs. Now when I write, it's in defense of real hip-hop. Of the street and slang. Once I get busy, it all comes pouring out."
