Bloodshy & Avant, the Swedish production duo behind the music of Miike Snow, made Britney Spears' "Toxic." Miike Snow's lead singer, Andrew Wyatt, co-wrote Bruno Mars' "Grenade." Knowing these things might lead one to believe that Miike Snow's new album, Happy To You, is full of radio-targeting pop hits. That's not the case.
When they're in Miike Snow mode, the trio gets much more experimental. The music has all the catchy choruses and lush production, but the group maintains an indie pop edge that avoids the straightforward approach of a radio hit and strives for something a little (actually a lot) more interesting.
