You may not be familiar with Neon Hitch’s British accent yet. But chances are you’ve heard the 25-year-old’s sultry voice call Travie McCoy back to the house on his Gym Class Heroes’ Billboard hit “Ass Back Home.”
After making her mark with that guest appearance, Neon’s blazing her own trail now. And it’s a sexy trail at that, kicking off with “Fuck U Better,” the first single from her forthcoming album Beg, Borrow and Steal. Last week Hitch released the soft core Chris Applebaum-directed video, which found her dipped in black body paint grinding on the floor. A sanitized version of the clip (ahem, “Love You Better”) aired on MTV last week, but we’re pleased to bring you the the world premiere of the uncut raw version right here on the Plex.
“I just wanted to show my ex what he was missing,” Neon told Complex recently. After a split with an old boyfriend, she decided not to wallow in sad sauce and instead channeled her energy into making this dance record. “I wanted to make a song that made me feel empowered about the breakup. I didn’t want to sit at home and cry. I wanted to celebrate the breakup. It makes me feel good. And I hope that it makes other people feel good, too.”
Surely, men all over will appreciate the sentiment, the song, and the accompanying visuals. “It’s just me getting a little more loose,” Neon says of the uncut version. “I like to push things as far as I can.”
