The Flaming Lips have never really been the type of act to work within what we could call the "typical" confines of music. From all sorts of weird merchandise -- they encased one of their songs in a human skull -- to tracks exceeding six hours in length, Wayne Coyne and company like to push the boundaries of songwriting convention.

And the Flaming Lips are continuing their goal to shock, surprise, and intrigue us all with their latest set of collaborations. They have been teasing joint tracks with Bon Iver, Ke$ha, and Erykah Badu these past few weeks via Twitter updates. You can sample those tracks right now at Pitchfork. If you only have time for one of them, we recommend the tunes with Badu. Apparently they're covering British folk song "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face." Wild.
