Jay-Z made the announcement today that he is planning two performances at New York City’s Carnegie Hall for February 6 and 7. After a private ticket sale on December 12, some tickets will be available to the public on January 30.

Hov spoke on the opportunity to play Carnegie Hall, as well as his dedication to United Way, which has partnered with the Shawn Carter Foundation. Here's what he said:

“Its every artists dream to play a venue as legendary as Carnegie Hall. The fact that I can use the arts and my talent to benefit the education of the next generation of artists, entrepreneurs, and great thinkers makes for a legendary night. I’m proud to be a part of the continuing work of United Way of New York City and expanding the Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation.”
