Southern rap producer Shawty Redd, known for his work with Young Jeezy, was relieved of murder charges dating back to January 1, 2010 earlier today.

The producer-songwriter, who's government name is Demetrius Lee Stewart, was arrested on New Year's Day of last year after he allegedly shot Damon Martin. The shooting was preceded by an altercation between the two.

In Redd's defense, his attorney, Ashutosh Joshi, claimed the shooting was only an act of self-defense, leading Judge Wade Crumbly to reach the final verdict: not guilty.
